ओजः शरीरं धारयति।

What Is Ojas?
Ojas is the most refined product of all bodily metabolism — the final essence produced when food is properly digested, emotions are well-processed, and sleep is truly restorative. It is the physical substrate of immunity, vitality, mental clarity, and spiritual sensitivity. When Ojas is abundant, the eyes shine, the skin glows, and the mind remains stable under pressure.
What Depletes Ojas
Excessive sexual activity, chronic overwork, emotional stress without recovery, poor and fragmented sleep, alcohol, processed food, prolonged grief, and constant sensory overstimulation are the primary Ojas-depleting factors. Modern life — with its relentless pace, screen exposure, sleep deprivation, and nutritionally empty food — is extraordinarily depleting of this fundamental vital reserve. This explains the epidemic of autoimmune disease, infertility, chronic fatigue, and anxiety.
Building Ojas — The Rasayana Path
Sattvic diet, adequate restorative sleep, loving relationships, regular meditation, and Rasayana (rejuvenative) therapies build Ojas steadily. The most potent Ojas-building substances:
- Warm full-fat A2 milk with ashwagandha and saffron
- Medjool dates soaked overnight
- Pure cow's ghee — 1–2 tsp daily
- Soaked and peeled almonds
- Raw unheated honey
- Shatavari (especially for women)
